1985 Hall of Fame Nominees

Generals had 2 retirements, Daniel Tosh and John Joyce. I don't know what Joyce will do now but I've heard Tosh is considering making his own TV show. I doubt either one should be on the ballot but Tosh would be the better choice.

I may not have beaten the Gamblers in the World Bowl but I want to nominate a retired Gambler for the Hall. CB Mike Williams deserves to be in https://usflwfl.myfootballnow.com/player/1503.

Williams has 3 rings, 2 from his 10 years in New Jersey and 1 from his last season in Houston. I forget how many All Pro teams he made but I think it's 2, maybe 3. His 56 career INT's put him 4th all time.

I may be biased but he looks like a Hall of Famer to me.

Speaking of retirements, Boston had 12 players retire this offseason. I know pdoug20 has always had an affinity for older players, but you eventually have to say goodbye (and eat their dead cap space). It looks like the Breakers have an opportunity to get younger, and better, over the next several seasons.

I sent a list of proposed HOF ballot additions to the HOF committee today. Please nominate anyone from among your retirees whose stats would be comparable. Here is the 1984 ballot:

Joseph West as a pure fb. He had okay receiving and rushing numbers for a full back but just 4 sacks allowed in over 3000 pass blocks 2 each in 2 seasons. And 19 tackles allowed in over 2000 run blocks.

Not my franchise player but this is the guy with the best stats that retired a gold this year.
