I just cut FB Stuart Haney and Washington signed him...no big deal except for how much he signed him for. It occurs to me that perhaps chermy isn't aware how cheaply free agents can be signed for. Perhaps he is not alone in that regard. Except during free agency periods, available players MUST sign a contract offered to them, meaning you can sign a player like Haney for close to league minimum instead of $4.1 M for 2 years. The money saved now can then be used during the offseason free agency periods.

The exception would be if somebody really makes a mistake and cuts a potentially valuable player. |
