Man, it really is tough going if you take over a team to rebuild in this league, especially if you had no 1st or 2nd round picks. The FA market has VERY little to offer...perhaps this is due to the fact that the league is super-active ?

[EDIT] Not at all a complaint, just an observation.

Exactly. In other leagues, FA market is interesting because of people who dont log in for weeks and skip resigning key players. And draft is the same here too. With experienced owners you dont have those 53 overall fb taken in the first round .

What he said.

But, all that activity seems to have resulted in competitive balance. In the first three seasons, 24 of the 32 USFL/WFL franchises qualified for the playoffs.

Just look at the last two seasons.

LAX went from 6-10 to 11-5. Oakland went from 6-10 to 14-2. Cleveland went from 8-8 to 13-3. Orlando went from 2-14 to 11-5. Tampa Bay went from 8-8 to 15-1. Georgia went from 5-11 to 15-1. Birmingham went from 4-12 to 13-3. New Orleans went from 7-9 to 13-3. NY Stars went from 1-15 to 10-6.

So, it can be done, and it doesn't take 10 seasons to do it. Hang in there, read the forums, ask questions. You'll get there.

Thanks, I like to compete, I will do the best I can with what I got. So far, I think this is the best run league I have had the privilege to be in. I am undefeated in other leagues, but that's primarily due to taking over successful teams built by Pernbronze. Have taken a team that was 1-15 to currently 7-2 in MFN-63, but like mentioned here, that is down to available talent on FA'gency.

Keep up the good work tribewriter, and thanks for the advice.
