August MFN Update
by raidergreg69 @ 8/06/2025 3:26 pm
I went into the new UI to check this position eligibility because it's not on the old UI. The JDB post made it seem like it's live so I added to the default, which I hope means things run like normal.

The default was set where the defense can't switch position groups, like no DE to LB or vice versa. There is no distinction between being able to switch the position on the player card and the depth chart. It's either both or nothing.

Like I said above my goal for now is to have things continue as they were before the August update. If something goes haywire during tonight's games let me know and I'll see what I did wrong.

This pic is what it looks like now, after I added some check marks.

I added some more check marks after thinking about it because we do currently allow defense to play anywhere on defense.

I know what MFN has devolved into but ngl Greg, that default is something I would play under.

Gives me a little hope for the future of the game.

Only thing about the default is we wouldn't be able to convert a rookie from one position group to another and the MFN player generator sometimes assigns players a position they aren't best suited for.

No more drafting a TE and converting him to RB. No more drafting a DE and moving him to LB.

According to what I'm reading, this affects both position changes and depth chart placement.

I suppose I could leave it as is for the draft, then go to default after training camp, but we'd have to figure something out for Smirt. I realize those of you who want the position restrictions dgaf about Smirt's roster construction, but as of today he is playing by the rules and this change would likely get him to quit unless we figure out a way to smooth his transition, along with any other teams with small, fast players across the board.

I want everyone happy, which of course is impossible, but I'm glad we have a lot of time before next season starts.

There are a few teams that use their Punter as the Kick Holder. As plans are made to roll all of this out, it seems reasonable to add the Punter to that function.

My bad, I totally missed that.
