Should we allow this or not?
Allow it

I have been asked to remove this, but honestly I don't know how I'd enforce it or penalize someone who does it. So I'm putting it up to a vote.

To clarify, the max contract loophole was discussed here https://usflwfl.myfootballnow.com/forums/1/2391?page=1. This explains how to do it, but basically you take a max contract, fool around with the numbers and create an offer slightly higher than the default maximum.
If you want me to outlaw it, please tell me how you think I should penalize violators. Also, if it is outlawed, I may need help finding violations because I'm not exactly motivated to analyze every free agent contract. |

It was suggested to me that I simply remove the player from the roster should this happen. Only thing is I can't actually do that. League Administrators do not have the ability to make changes to another team's roster.

I'd personally not want it allowed, but obviously you can't monitor everything.
Penalty? Difficult to say. Capital punishment possibly? |

Which is why I posted a couple years ago how to do it. If everyone knows how to do it, it's less of an exploit. I found that easier than being the contract police, especially since there is no way I see to make an acceptable punishment. This really rarely comes into play because we rarely have blue chip free agents hitting the market. Even when they do, and someone wrecks their cap with a max plus contract, it limits what else they can do. Look at it like those speed cameras. In Ohio at least, they're worthless and only the truly afraid even bother paying them. Sure, they send threatening letters but there is literally nothing they can do. They can't put points on your license nor can they force you to pay by threat of jail. I've heard they ding your credit but I've never had one so idrk for sure. |

Offering the most money is not an exploit.

Free agency 1 has started so proceed like we always have, nothing is changing. The vote is currently 8-5 to not ban this loophole so we would need about 10 votes in a row wanting it gone for me to even consider it.
I'll leave the poll open for awhile, curious how many straggler votes we'll get. |
