For the 4th season in a row, the San Antonio Gunslingers will represent the American Conference in World Bowl XLII. The two seasons prior it was San Jose in the World Bowl and that's who San Antonio had to get through to reach the World Bowl.
Their Conference Championship Game was tied at the half 20-20 before the SaberCats suffered 3 turnovers in the 3rd qtr. The Gunslingers took advantage, scoring 20 points in the quarter for a commanding 40-20 lead. San Antonio would maintain that lead to the end as they win and advance.
The National Conference will be represented by the Philadelphia Bell. This Conference Championship Game was tied at 13 in the 4th qtr before New Jersey took a 20-13 lead inside the 2 minute warning on a David Fields TD pass to Raylan Givins. Philadelphia answered with a Donald Davis 60 yard TD pass to Gary Vera and the game was tied at 20 when the clock hit 0:00.
Philadelphia got the ball to start OT and missed a FG on their drive. New Jersey took over and David Fields was sacked on the first play, losing a fumble in the process. Philadelphia ran 4 plays then kicked the game winning FG to send the Bell to their 2nd World Bowl.
