It has come to my attention that one of our owners made a back room deal for another person to take over their team after the playoffs. I won't reveal that team at this time but if that person wants you all to know now, he can post something.
In some respects I have no problem with this approach, and in other respects I have problems with how this went down.
First of all, I do appreciate the effort to keep the league full and in most cases I won't have a problem with whomever the new guy is. There could be times where I do have a problem with the new guy, or maybe it's just that I promised someone else the next opening here. For those reasons, I ask that anyone else planning on doing this please let me know ahead of time who you plan on passing the team to.
Remember, this is a private league and nobody can have a team until I hit the red approve button after they apply for ownership.
An additional thought...even if you don't have a replacement lined up, I could be posting in League Matchmaking looking for owners. I don't have much luck in this approach, we have much better luck once there are actual openings, but advance notice never hurts.
Mistakes were made on my end as I didn't inform Greg about my talking to the prospective new owner for taking over the Outlaws after this playoff run nor my desire to have the team taken over. It was my mistake and a complete lack of thought of Greg as league admin.
For context, the deal happened very quick in the PFL discord yesterday however that does not excuse me not informing Greg right after it was made.
I want to say this has been one of my favorite leagues and my leaving has nothing to do with any owner or the league itself. I'm not enjoying 4.6 and it's burnt me out pretty hard. I'm scaling back my teams to two at most while I either get over my burn out or a new game engine is released. Thanks everyone for the countless battles in USFL, they made this championship I have worth more than most.
OK the cat's out of the bag. I'm not mad about this, just surprised. I'm actually glad there is a replacement already lined up, makes my job as commish easier. Obviously AG will be welcome back here whenever he wants, he has been a great asset in the USFL, and his 2001 Outlaws team will go down as a top 3 team in league history.
Once again I'm not mad, being mad is different than having a problem with something. There are only a handful of people I would never let in and Grandad B is at the top of the list, so if you really want to make me mad, give your team to him lmao. JK please don't.
Speaking of teams transferring ownership, Beercloud reached out to me asking to take over the NY Stars, given nosedive neil hasn't logged into MFN for 10 days. Provided he still wants to, we'll make the switch today.

I actually booted him for not logging in for 10 days. He missed XFL free agency and would likely skip ours too

Nosedive Neil had actually renewed his team here, but he's only been in MFN 5 months so he gets judged by all of his leagues until he establishes a track record. I checked his XFL team and he did nothing during free agency there so I expected the same here.
If I had to guess, he had every intention of seeing this through in the beginning, but somewhere along the line he said F it and just quit logging in.
Who knows, maybe he'll make an angry post asking why I took his team, but I doubt it.
