Between this code and the terrible drafts, I am not too thrilled by this game.
It's why I stopped doing anything with drafts (drafting besides a dispersal one) years ago :( and I don't play JDB's rigged high volatility game.
Bam. Up to Greg's comment now.

I can't wrap my head around the fact that every version since 4.3 seems to be less fun than the previous.
Well, 4.3 was pretty fun except the wrinkle where your QB became worthless in the 4th quarter because of fatigue.
I can wrap my head around it in terms of Ray influence got us here and Admiral cheerleading. 4.5...4.6...GREATEST CODE EVER!!!! Release, release, release it!
It bolstered JDB's confidence in the codes and like with v4.6 he cocksure'd released it quickly, hung around a bit but then felt comfortable enough to vanish satisfied with himself because 2-3 people were in his ear going yay!!!

My Top 10 passing attack has eclipsed 200 yards twice.
197 yards per game puts me between Norm Van Brocklin (1953) and Otto Graham (1948).
We are averaging 14.5 points per game (and are 5-1).
That would put us between Jacksonville (15.0, 31st) and #32 Houston (13.7, last) in the 2021 NFL season.
The league is averaging 13.8 points per team. You have to go back to 1938 to get a lower average (13.5).
Maybe The Admiral and Ray are really, really old. You whippersnappers didn't think about that, did you? They're out there rationing gas for our boys in Europe and you are just typing on your fancy electric typewriters. For shame!

They want the game to be more realistic to the NFL but not today's level of realistic as since 2009 there are 8 or more QB's a year throwing for 4000+ yards (minus one season.) I get I might be younger than a lot of people on this site but you have to have not been watching for the past 10 years to think this level of passing yards is normal. I don't want every QB throwing for 4000 yards but **** the good offenses and teams who throw a lot should
Amen to all of that, AG. While I'm not advocating for 4.3(?) numbers, downfield passing has to work. I miss opening up to gameplan and without looking, knowing that I was playing Smirt or CJ or Greg. There's no variety anymore, because nothing else works.
First 2 to 3 years I played the game I didn't give a f** about defense like CJ. Well, I did but we're competitors and what we do is shut off the valve whenever you get hit with something - fix so it never happens again. My philosophy was to go ***-for-tat in a scoring battle while either burning out the other team's QB/RB or both in absorbing blows or just flat out mauling over you with a high octane offense.
Now?
I'm devoting myself to defense with the goal being shut outs to attain the victory. Think of dealing with offense this way. The idea is to avoid getting tasered. More taser shots inflicted on you...the more exponentially your chances increase for a loss.
Long Pass = 99% chance to get tasered. ZAPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!! (sack, int, penalty)
Medium Pass = Handful of Plays = OK to run. Rest = ZAPPPP!!!!!! ^
Being how competitive I am I only think of how to not f up and how to avoid any taser shot.
I may want to reflect upon if I really want to play with the engine like this and for how long. Typically, FA #1 is where that hits me when I do my 'do I give the energy to this' debate with myself.
Sometimes this game reminds me of Seinfeld, when George worked for Krooger. Anytime a problem came up, Krooger would shrug his shoulders and say "I'm not too worried about it".
If you're more of an Office person, imagine Michael Scott running MFN.
How is everyone's DL holding up? Mine is getting ground up like hamburger. In my mind I attribute it to more teams trying to run? Curious if my situation is an outlier or more shared.

Theadmiral.....Captain Defender of 4.6!
Surprised he hasn't jumped into this forum to chastise all the 4.6 hate! Because whenever 4.6 hate occurs....Captain Defender arrives to defend and endorse everything 4.6!
Why????
Because him and other 4.6 advocates sucked at 4.5 and couldn't compete with the big boys. 4.6 became their refuge and they had a chance against the elite!!!
How do I know???
For 12 seasons using "bleeding beta which become 4.6....they never achieved 4,000 passing yards, 30 TD passes or have 1,000,yard WRs!
Now that everyone has been forced into the switch...those numbers will be easily achieved and Theadmiral and his like will continue to fall to the bottom of the owners pile and go back to sucking!!!
It's amazing how the creator can ruin the game and I can improve it with simple custom rules using version 4.5.
I honestly wish someone with the time, desire and ability would buy MFN from JDB and improve on what clearly has a chance to be a great game...zero changes in a year just isn't getting it done and he clearly isn't listening to his entire user base!!!
