When there is a speed limit of 80 in the front 4, you can say you eliminate the feature of punt blocking in this football simulation.
It 's ok for me, so I have to change a bit my draft evaluation to LBs next draft.
Preferred is a weight limit of 237lbs like in all other leagues.
Problem with 80speed limit for me is, that due to converting a player, I could overlook the special team because I have to check every player again to speed. If you are in rebuild modus, you do more converting as a contender. In case there is forbidden player, please contact me, so that I can substitute.
Just to have 237 lbs limit is easier to control and punt block can still happen in that simulation. You are the boss, it's your league.

Well it seems people don't like my compromise, so I don't know what I'm gonna do. Probably nothing since that seems to be what people want. Carry on like this discussion never happened,.

Actually, in my case the punt blocker had 75 speed. As long as JDB ruthlessly suppresses any vestige of speed, anyone new will be at a distinct disadvantage. My blockers are so bad that I am essentially helpless against anyone established. My only choice is to give up and go away, which is perhaps what JDB really wants.
This seems like a reasonable compromise, but the game is far from reasonable right now.

I don't need a rule to tell me not to put an 80+ speed LB on the front 4 because I know it will lead to blocks.
However, I'd be glad if there were a rule because some players will do anything that isn't prohibited in order to get a W.
Punt Block Exploit No DB, WR, or RB on the front 4 of the ST rushers
We have this rule already. Why do we need to change it?

I guess we don't as we can't come to a consensus on anything, other than yes, most want LB on ST Rusher. We have 26 votes in and it's 21-5 yes. Of those 21 yes votes, they are close to evenly split between let them play anywhere, keep them off the front 4, and keep speed under 80.
I could run another poll just using the yes vote options, but why? They'll just end up even again. With no clear answer, it's carry on, business as usual.

Whining about it to no end might be another thing some players will do.

My 2 cents for what's it worth....
I've been using the following rule in both the GM Football leagues (I&II)
ONLY DL & LB CAN PLAY ST RUSHER.
There is no speed component to it but LBs must weigh 237 pounds.
It's been 6 full seasons combined for both leagues and we get the occasional punt block but it hasn't been at any alarming rate.
I feel like a punt block happened week 1 here and "maybe" it's an overreaction to it occurring.
The "exploit" to block punts was lining up 191 pound +90 speed DBs and WRs on the front 4 (ST RUSHER #1-#4) which overloaded the offensive line and created an abundance of punt blocks (I counted 1 team getting 41 punt blocks for a season).
My suggestion is to take a wait and see approach to punt blocks before instituting a new (revised) rule.
The ideal is to still get some punt blocks without them getting out of control (McKeon style).
