With the draft recently over, we saw the Bandits trade away first overall pick Melvin Driggers. It was a rollercoaster ride with MD. It took 4 season for him to find his accuracy and still had some signature 4-5 INT games.

He tried to carry the team as best he could but outside of Future Hall of Fame WR Whitey, he just had an average supporting cast.

Team ownership felt that it was time to cut the cord. The Bandits were just good enough to make the playoffs but weren’t really a threat. Given MD was looking at 68 mil in bonus after this year, it was clear as day, in the best interest of the club to go separate ways.
