The 1989 season kicks off for real in a few hours, best of luck to everyone. Will anyone break the Gamblers/Showboats stranglehold on League Championships? They've won 8 of the last 10, though there are many capable teams/owners ready to pounce should those teams take a step back.

In a interview with the Houston Chronicle, Tony Dean was asked about the upcoming season, expectations and the Memphis Showboats.
"I feel great! The core of the team is returning and we moved up in the 1st round to get Jett Black. He is another explosive weapon and may be the fastest player on the team."
"My expectation is to win, thats always my expectation. ****, I have one more empty finger on my throwing hand."
"Memphis? All I can say is they are a great team with a great coach. Every game against them means something and the Gamblers will always come to play. You can bet on it!"
