1983 Hall of Fame Nominations
by tribewriter @ 3/26/2019 8:23 am
Please look over your offseason retirements and see if there are any players you wish to nominate for the USFL/WFL Hall of Fame. You can post below or PM me. The Hall of Fame committee will also review candidates.

Maybe wr John Ayala. The last few years he wasn't starred but he had 6 straight 1000 receiving yards seasons to stay his career.

Pittsburgh RB Cliff Thomas, the league's all-time rushing leader, will be eligible this season.

In terms of career receptions, four of the league's top 10 all-time receivers will be eligible:
Marshall Gibson, STO (2)
Robert Zapata, ORL (5)
John Ayala, CHI (9)
Gerard Hall, MEM (10)

So will four of the top 12 all-time tackle leaders:
Joseph Daughtry, HON (5)
Ralph Johnson, GAF (6)
Keith Bernstein, JAX (11)
Roy Edelman, BOS (12)

Edelman is the career tackles leader among retired LBs. There are two active LBs ahead of him.

And, I am sure I am missing someone. I just took a quick look this morning.

I think this is how I will do All-Pro this season. I will put together a preliminary ballot, post it, then give everybody 24 hours to add to it. That will encourage more user participation and lessen the chance of a deserving player being left off the ballot.

Finally had a player retire as a General but I doubt he's worthy of being on the ballot. LB Mike Weddington https://usflwfl.myfootballnow.com/player/730 had a decent career, solid but unspectacular. This is only notable because he is the first ever retiree from my franchise.

I was expecting a few more to hang up the cleats but I guess they want to make another run at a 2nd title.
