Gus,
Are you saying that you think some owners would abandon trying to win in order for a player to get an award, but wouldn't do so in order to get a better draft pick?
I'm still legitimately trying to understand why this would have a negative impact on MFN.
My opinion is that outright tanking is bad and should not be allowed. However, it is allowed so it happens in nearly every league.
Therefore, I don't see how having awards would increase the number of owners not trying to win, as I believe a better draft pick is much more incentive to lose than an award.
Again, I'm not trying to be argumentative. I am really trying to understand why you think this would have a negative impact on the way MFN is currently. If someone's willing to not try to win, they're already doing it. I obviously don't want to encourage something that would have a negative impact, but I just don't see it.
Maybe there are already owners here that MAY do this, but its the players that get attracted by this. Who's to say they will stick around for the draft pick?
Read my earlier posts in this thread, I gave it a +1. My arguments are largely devils advocate, I do like the idea in general and wouldn't like it to go into great detail, eg: every position, maybe just a O and D MVP each week form both conferences.
I have been in a game where this is done and can tell you that some owners will be solely focused on stats should this be the way
