From my experience DT seems to be the most abundent position when it comes to highly rated players in the draft. But, the good ones go quickly, mostly in the first round.
Highly rated CBs are rare in this game, and if there ever is one (not every draft class has one), they are gone in the first.
To me, everyone after the 2nd round is a complete ****-shoot. You never know what you're going to get ... until you get to the 6th and 7th rounds. Then you know you're getting someone who won't make it to the first game before being cut.
For the most part I agree what your saying...I'd like to add though,
being active during the draft is pivotal to having a good team. Knowing your team's needs (at whatever) part of the draft will go a long way. Some people tend to sleep during the draft and expect to get the best player/ need every round.
