Much has been said regarding new owners inheriting bad teams and quitting the game. Just a random thought before a road trip begins for me .. Why not give a new owner the option of rolling over next years dead cap into the current years cap (as much as it can or a percentage)? Here are a few guidelines:
Can only be done once per season. A team can have a couple owners during a season (due to inactivity).
Established owners or second team owners are excluded because you should know going in what you are getting into.
Benefits:
More team participation during FA driving salaries higher.
More new owners establishing a quicker franchise turnaround.
Id be inclined to make the rollover a percentage or everything but $2,000,000 to use towards injuries.
50% Percent Rollover:
Team A:
2019 Cap Available: $20,000,000 ($10,000,000 available to rollover)
2020 Dead Cap: $15,000,000
2020 Adj Dead Cap: $5,000,000
Thoughts? Any additional ideas?
Like many of you Id like to see some more owners stick around .. More Owners = More Leagues.
