Would you pay.....?

Just floating a thought....but would you pay for this product to improve? I see a lot of very well respected coaches on here getting pissed off with the lack of input or feedback from JDB, but perhaps he might have his own issues in real life.

The current "pay to play" very much lends itself to the cosmetic side of the game, and I don't think the game should take the approach of "the more you spend, the better your chances", but something like a mandatory annual/seasonal subscription might not be the worst idea to light a fire in the belly of JDB to improve the game the way we would like ?

Would you pay....?

I buy credits so I can change the names of my draft picks so I already pay.

To a certain extent we do pay, although you don't have to and it doesn't improve your chances of winning.

1. Put credits on your account: This removes all adverts, provided you hold a set amount and allows you to rename teams, players, logos etc

2. Create your own League: Allows you to do unlimited customisations to any/all teams within a League, with a cost each season - if you choose not to make any changes there is no charge to your credits.

A few of the 'louder' complainers run there own custom leagues, have done so for some time and regularly 'pay to play'.

You just listed the reasons some of us complain so loudly. We put a lot of time and effort into our leagues and we put our money where our mouth is. I don't like the direction MFN as a whole is taking and I've never been shy about voicing my opinion. Nothing wrong with that.

For clarity, I was including myself as both a League owner (multiple Leagues) and complaining loudly.

Do those of us that regularly put our hands in our pockets have more of a right to complain? maybe, maybe not. I guess the fact that we have been prepared to 'pay to play' lets us think that our views should carry more weight. In reality, only JDB's views are worth a **** in the MFN Universe.

YES! LMAO!
I also maintain credits so I can do team customization for my league's GMs - so my GMs do not have to pay for team customization themselves!

How exciting! (EDIT: Insert cynicism)

I'ma just here enjoying my gametime and letting the game creator/dev do what he does. I already signed up for the ride, wherever it may take me.
Perfection is impossible but enjoyment is always up to the user.

Still, as always, loving MFN!!

Pay or not....JDB has proven (often) that he doesn't listen to the masses.

There are approximately 300 end-users at any given time yet he put in a poll up in the Beta league to vote if bleeding Beta should be released as 4.6

8 owners voted yes and he said "25% of 1 league seems like a majority vote" and released it.

That's despite the fact that approximately 12 seasons of data was available for Beta across 4 different leagues.

The data clearly demonstrated the passing game was broken. Yes, those leagues didn't have the majority of "elite" owners playing. The reason for that was the fact that the passing game was so "nerfed" that none of them wanted to play it.

Now that 4.6 has had a chance to evolve in every League and is played by every owner...the data remains mostly the same.

3,000 yards passing is the new 4,000 yards passing

4,000 yards passing is the new 5,000 yards passing

20 TD passes is the new 30 TD passes

30 TD passes is the new 40 TD passes

And of course a dozen players get 20+ sacks a season while teams consistently challenge the single season rushing record. 3,296 yards rushing is the team record held by the 2019 Baltimore Ravens which averages 206.0 rushing yards per game. The Ravens with Lamar Jackson broke a record from 1978 when New England rushed for 3,165 yards (197.8).

MFN-1 (15 GAMES)
Chicago 258.0 yards rushing per game
Cincinnati 220.8

MFN-2 (16 GAMES)
Houston 226.8

MFN-7 (12 GAMES)
Tampa Bay 242.3

LEAGUE OF LEGENDS (16 GAMES)
Settlers 217.4

XFL (15 GAMES)
Cincinnati 212.0

PFL (16 GAMES)
Hornets 259.6
Motors 224.6
Bearcats 210.9

Etc etc etc

I still play avidly and have 2 leagues I admin that have been around for over 20 seasons.

Personally I think 4.6 was pushed for release because some owners felt they couldn't compete versus the "elites" and thought 4.6 fixed all the exploits of 4.5

I have news for everyone, the "elites" not only still dominate but now the gap between "elite" and "very good" owners has widened! All the exploits of 4.5 still exist in some fashion but now a very good owner has even less chance to beat the elite owners.

So congratulations for making the game more boring with nerfed passing while making the game even more competitively unbalanced. If that was the goal, then pop the champagne!!!

Success!!!!

Don't forget that less than 50% took part in the survey. The rest didn't care. But then everyone whines. It's the same as with the BREXIT election.

Most of the people complaining have spent a lot of money on the game or a lot time improving content. I'm willing to bet someone like fred has spent over 100 real dollars right now because of the number of leagues he's created and customized.

The bigger problem is that JDB has no problem taking credit money or ad money for the game, but disappears as soon as problems are pointed out. The game could be pulling in a lot more revenue if it were ... fun.
