I counter the above suggested split of success with:
Roster management 70%
Gameplanning 20%
Luck 10%
We have rookie owners in charge of the two bowl teams this season - both having taken over teams with very well built rosters. Not to take anything away from either owner, but they've defeated vastly more experienced owners to get to the bowl. Both bowl franchises have won the title previously, with one of the teams having made the final for 5 consecutive seasons.
Roster building is the bit that matters. Gameplanning is the tiebreaker.
Electro Sports Football League?
I didnt say experienced owners...I said master game planners...2 completely different things.
A quick look at the owners in the league and none of them appear to have played in any other league. So that gives all of you 7 seasons of experience.
I appreciate the example but my percentages are based on playing 100's of seasons in MFN. That league seems to be an isolated case which isnt the norm.
I cant judge the level of gameplanning going on in your league because I simply havent played anyone in it.
All I can say is I have won a bunch of titles in many different leagues and have taken train wreck teams that went 0-16 the previous year and took them to the title game the next and won it the following year.
