The time has come to add a descriptor to user created leagues.
Before anyone joins a user league, all league settings MUST be a static, server generated from the league settings as to exactly what the league is.
Delays, spins, injury settings, customizable... etc.
When a user searches leagues, the information is - even now - far too sparse to make anything other than a stab in the dark - especially for noobs to MFN.
perhaps a hover note, old school radio button, or a drop down should be added to allow users to know all settings of a league prior to joining.
****, create "league cards" along the lines of player cards. The code already exists. A few tweeks (easier said) and VIOLA!
This whole shenanigans has ultimately resulted in me delaying a created league YET again. 8 months, still delaying.
Users do not know full settings before join, and admins cannot properly communicate or "run" league forums.
Total waste of money to create a league... Still.
I wish ("spit in one hand wish in the other" grandpa said - "see what gives you something...") anyway, I wish I would have known the limits of the admin being involved long before i made what is still a mistake to create a league.
Admins cannot sticky, and cannot use league chat. ****.
League admin should have some parameters of flexibility within the league only forum.
EG: I want to do this, but I cannot sticky it, so it will be buried and pointless, lost in the trade and new owner server generated posts (OH! MFN already has what it takes to accomplish the above!).
The current situation prohibits and minimalizes a league admin from actually running a "unique" league, and prevents users from knowing what they are getting innto re: spins, injuries, non spin day, time of spin, all the important stuff in a game that relies more upon the GM side than the joystick side.
MFN is NOT about "playing" the game, it is about setting things up so the sim can run to one's favor.
THAT requires user created leagues to have full transparency. It is a matter of pulling existing data into a "hover" info bubble or radio button (eg flavor text on MMOCCG cards. Been there, done that in 1998). Very much within the current server capabilities - that code has been round for a couple decades now. Digital Addiction/Nioga did it 1997. Pioneered it, as a fact. Glad to have participated.
Make it happen, PLEASE. Work it.
Edited for grammar, which is still atrocious.
