This guy went 14-2 last year and appears to know what hes doing. I wouldn't be an advocate of hamstringing his ability to remake his roster.
I understand your sentiment that people shouldn't be hamstringed from redoing their roster. But putting himself 37 million over the cap is a bit extreme. I'm very curious to see what happens to his team when the sim occurs. I'm concerned he's about to lose a lot of good players and possibly see his dead cap space go up. If it doesn't, it will be because the coaches dumped the players he just picked up off the waiver wire in the mid-week sim.
Personally, I think there needs to be some limits put in place to prevent teams from having their cap situations ruined. I'm concerned that there may have been a considerable number of new people on this site that leave because they didn't realize the damage they were doing to their team and then left because they got frustrated when they realized their team was going to **** for the next 2 or 3 years. And possibly still not even realize they did it to themselves.
I think jdb should seriously consider three things to give this site a more positive future.
• Fix the latest code that has gotten so many complaints because it appears to be causing long time players to quit.
• Put limits on how far over the cap players can go with their waiver claims and free agent signings. This could prevent the frustration that new players have and therefore could keep them around longer.
• Create "if/then" rules for waiver claims and free agent offerings. We can make rules for gameplay. Why not for roster moves?
