Being a long time game and sports fan I grew up playing all sorts of games. Every publicly open game eventually loses out to players who who find ways to beat the game engine instead of the game. They do this a variety of ways and in every game that is played on an open to all format. If this "glitching" is not dealt with quickly and decisively it ruins the fun for all involved except for those that partake. We have seen glitching here with the abuse of contracts, position changes, multiple teams, etc... but I was always aware of another way which I kept to myself knowing that if I ever saw it, I would leave the league. This way is when a play is unbeatable that an owner would only use that one play, or sure that one play the majority of the time because he know there is not much his opponent can do to stop it. With us being able to select 40 plays to use you would expect to see the same play maybe twice in a game, but if a play is a staple you might see it 6-10 times a game. Tonight I ran into a team which ran against a defense set to stop the run, and nothing but the run. This team ran the ball 45 times for well over 200 yards and again.. it was against a defense with sliders set to stop the run unless is was 3rd and long or 4th and long. It ran 1 run play 26 times (yes I counted), and another run play at least 15 times (no i didnt count).
Now, I am not complaining... I am just saying this isnt fun for me.. I am looking for a hobby to stay interested between HS football season as I actually get to live me dream as a HS football coach where I am a head coach of a larger HS. So again, this is just a hobby. I don't have the time, nor do I want to spend the time to delve into finding the counter to these glitch plays like I did in the old Madden days. My point is to the development team.. You have choices in how you make this product and I commend your start. But at some point you are going to have to choose on whether you allow the glitchers and lose owners like me who lose interest when they realize they will never win a championship unless they follow suit.. or do you have the time and resources to put systems in place to fight these glitches. It is a tough question and I understand that...
There is a saying in coaching... Either you are coaching it, or you are allowing it to happen..
So with that said... I must say thank you for the hobby during the offseason and wish the best of luck to everyone and a special thanks to jcruz who spent extra time to teach me a lot of this game.. I have some very good teams out there for people to pick up now.. have fun with them
