So these two issues with blitzing have existed for as long as I've been here. Haven't suggested fixing it since blitzing was OP as is, but maybe worth consideration now.
The first is that blitzers do not attack the QB, but attack the center of the backfield, and will not turn to pursue until they've reached it. So since the QB almost always dances to one side or the other after the snap, blitzers will completely ignore where the QB is moving to until after they've hit that center point.
The second is that blitzing safeties do not cheat up or mug the line at all, and so are total non-factors as blitzers since they're frequently blitzing from 10-15+ yards back, whereas it'd be better for them to start accelerating forward pre-snap.
