Injury carryover

I'm about to go into preseason with a player still injured from a 10 week injury sustained towards the end of last season. This injury should of course be healed over the offseason. He is going to miss out on conditioning and experience of preseason with an injury that he shouldn't have any more. We should have the appropriate number of weeks of injury time rolled off in the offseason.

I believe offseasons are simulated as multiple weeks, allowing players to recover. The number of weeks left in his injury should have been reduced; if not, then there is a bug.

I've heard of players entering new seasons with an old injury, so it is possible. It's like a player tearing his ACL during the Super Bowl and needing to miss part of training camp to recover.

Normally the injuries will recover over the Training Camp stage, but if it is significant enough (10 weeks at the end of the season doesn't normally indicate a significant enough injury but even a 10 week injury has an outside chance that it will take twice the indicated time, and a really bad dice roll could make it even longer although the probability of that is very slim)

that would be a heck of an injury in this game since there are approx. 11 weeks between the Super Bowl and the draft and another 12 weeks between the draft and training camp

here's where I get the 12 weeks from, quotation taken from buccaneers.com

"Clubs are permitted to open preseason training camp for rookies and first-year players beginning seven days prior to the club’s earliest permissible mandatory reporting date for veteran players. Veteran players (defined as a player with at least one pension-credited season) other than quarterbacks or “injured players” (as defined in CBA Article 21, Section 6) may report to a club’s preseason training camp no earlier than 15 days prior to the club’s first scheduled preseason game or July 15, whichever is later."

so 11 weeks till rookie camp 12 weeks till full camp

total of at least 23 weeks between Super Bowl and training camp plus another 2 weeks for camp......anyone ever have an injury that long on here? longest I've had is 13 weeks

The TC sim runs 20 weeks of injury recovery. In this case, you clearly got a bad dice roll which indicates that the player did not do very well in his rehab, it is very rare but does happen.
