I think it would be of every league’s best interest to have a commissioner that can review trades and player movement. This commissioner could run for the position on a year to year election [ offseason] by the other owners in the league. This would provide for an extra level of confidence that the game is not being compromised by either outright cheating, collusion or advantage of a game bug.
Only way I could see something like a commissioner working on this website where it involved people of being a commissioner over the whole league really is this
1. The commissioners would be people who don't play the game nor have a team they own where they could be totally partial to both sides that want to trade.
also they couldn't be friends with people here , know anyone here , etc. or the whole process wouldn't work because they would just look out for their friends.
also reason I said people who are commissioners could not play the game nor have a team they own here is because if you let someone who does play the game or have a team they probably wouldn't be able to partial to the trades where they would accept them or reject them .
heck you could say you could have some take advantage of that knowledge of what others what to trade and just reject the trades then just swoop in and trade for that player.
2. Only thing else that could work is if somehow you could have a program from another web site or from somewhere that can tell automatically what is a fair trade and what is a bad trade where it could accept trades and no one could argue with it . same for it could reject trades and no one could argue with it.
like for example if the program knows that if someone tries to trade like a KICKER for a QB that it should reject it because it is a totally uneven trade then it would reject it.
Now if that same program knew somehow that like a trade that involves a RB for a 1st round pick that it should accept because it is a fair trade then it would accept it.
Even though those 2 ideas are the best things I can think of how it could work or maybe would work better REALLY how the system is now works best in that really you all can trade any draft pick or any player you want in that you have somewhat control over that.
And I think if you add a 3rd party to the equation most likely you will lose the control even perceived control or realistic control that you have on what trades you can do and what trades you know most likely will go thru because the trade indicator shows it is a fair trade.
