league 35, tucson vs. SF.
i dominated this entire game. i allowed 2 first downs in the first half. SF's QB was about 5 for 20, and they had about 25 rushing yards. suddenly, with 6 minutes left in the game, they can do no wrong. every pass complete, onside kick recovered, march down field, score 15 points in 3 minutes. my team? run,run,run,punt.. not what i gameplanned. second week in a row i've had a good lead and been screwed by three or four plays at the very end of the game.
i don't mean to sound bitter, but i've dropped $60 on this game so far, and i feel it should work consistently. i've thrown a lot of time at MFN, i gameplan a good bit of it myself. i don't expect to win every game, but what i've seen with all of my teams reminds me of the old days of football video games: my friends and i called it the "sympathy chip". from tecmo super bowl to bill walsh ncaa to early madden games: play the cpu, build a lead over 3 quarters, and then watch your team do everything to give it away. you wouldn't always lose, but you could always sense the exact moment that, no matter what you do, you are going to start to ****.
i've now played quite a few games in 6 leagues, and i get this feeling often. between that and the goofy time outs, my initial love for this game is failing. it is a GREAT game, way better than any other management sim, but i'm gonna think before i buy any more credits.
my apologies to SF's owner - i don't mean to be an *** about it, congrats for the win.
