Is it possible to not have 4 game stretches on the road, occasionally 6 of 7 games.
It's tougher to win on the road (rightly so) and confidence/momentum can also impact teams (rightly so). A four game stretch just doesn''t happen in real life (barring an end of season road trip and 3 playoff games on the road)
Also, how is the schedule formed. I assume
Div games x6 3h, 3a
Inter conf games x6
And playing one division from the opposing conference on a 4 year rotation.
I would like to see a much more competitive schedule eg
6 div games - as standard
1 alternate division games on a 7 year cycle
The 6 remaining games to be played against teams who finished in the corresponding position in their division ie all division winners play each other, all 2nd placed teams play each other etc...
In my opinion this keeps the interest of good owners as they are playing competitively more often, the owners 'learning' the intricacies of the game play more often against owners of a similar level and the car crash teams that have been badly managed, cap **** etc should all be in a position to win at least 3 or 4 games a year.
No-one wants an 0-16 team in the league and going 16-0 should be near impossible. Maybe it would make no difference but with a small tweak in the scheduling I think you could get leagues with more parity and the top coaches would not be able to coast through every regular season with minimum records of 14-2.
