So, since passing is so badly broken in 0.4.5, I thought I'd try running. Fired the head coach, got one who's "balanced" offense. In the last pre-season game I decided to try out the sweep plays, picked every one in my playbook. They all failed badly. Really badly. I decided to watch the replays of those plays. If the LG is supposed to pull right, or the RG is supposed to pull left, they don't take a step back and run behind the rest of the o-line to get in position to throw the lead block, no, they run forward, then try to cut across the field in all the traffic of the defenders and never get in position to do anything. If the LG is to pull left, or the RG is to pull right, they sorta go where they're supposed to go, but it doesn't look like they actually try to throw a block, they just let defenders run by them. Straight-ahead runs are effective, as I expected, but it looks like the sweeps may be entire class of play that is broken?
