So, players develop over time from their current in a particular stat toward the max they have in that area. The max may shift up or down based on the player's roll at training camp. Fine, good.
Here's the thing - let's say I have a corner, and decide to move him to DE (because of reasons). Presumably, if he then increases max at training camp it will be in a DE stat - pass rush, for example. That too would stand to reason.
Except, what if my player weights ignore pass rush entirely, instead focusing on pass accuracy? I'm being hypothetical, go with me on this.
Would training camp push the player toward my preferred weights or the generic weights for the position?
I suspect the latter, but here's why this is in the general forum rather than player help or suggestions... which should it be? I could argue both ways. Moving toward generic will create players who are typical for the position they play. However, moving toward personalised weights will likely make the player fit a team's scheme better and be more "realistic".
Anyone got a thought or two to add?
