Is there a post on how obscene the number of missed tackles is? It's something that has bothered me the first two seasons, but this season with the number of sacks and pressure algorithms that have gone bad, it's come to my attention again.
I think that making defensive players better tacklers would have done a much better job of re-balancing the defense then the changes to DL game play.

I didn't have time to post more on this earlier today, and it doesn't look like anyone has linked to another thread about missed tackles, so here we go. Teams during the 2014 NFL season had missed tackles that ranged from 94 to 152 for the season:
https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2015/02/10/sig-stats-tackling-efficiency-by-team/Here is my missed tackles for just my defensive players for the first nine games of this season and the previous two seasons. This number does not include offensive players on special teams or on turnovers:
2018 – 113 (first 9 games)
2017 – 282
2016 – 272
So both years, I've been about twice as worse as the worst team in the NFL in missing tackles. In 2017 and 2016, my defense finished in the Top 20 for yards allowed despite these missed tackles. This season my defense was shredded in the first 5 or 6 games and hasn't recovered. This was mostly due to poor game planning on my part.
The number of missed tackles appears to be down this season, but I don't know how much of this is that sacks are so far up. I would expect that if the pressure algorithms were rolled back then missed tackles would go up again because there would be more plays.
That leads me back to the main point. I think that the pressure algorithm needs to be rolled back and then the tackling skill needs to be buffed. I have a bad tackling team, but I shouldn't be twice as bad as the worst NFL team. Halving the number of missed tackles would balance the defense and offense without needing to hamstring offenses to the point where games become unbearable to watch.

This play and the last play of the game have now end any patience I have with this game until there are code changes. No one is that bad at tackling. See ya'll next season, maybe:
